How long does it take to receive the list of shortlisted tutors?
Ans: Once we receive your request via our online form, we will get in touch you within 18 hours to confirm your request. Thereafter we will send you a shortlist of suitable tutors within 36 hours.
What are the type of tutors available and how can I be sure of their qualification?
Basically, there are 3 types of tutors in the market: Part-time, Full-time and Current/Ex MOE teachers, all with different education backgrounds, but specialized in the subject / (s) they teach. In the case of the Part- time tutors, most of them, if not all had consistently achieved “A” grades in their academic results, for the subject / (s) they teach.
Moreover, when a tutor signed up with our agency, they are required to submit the softcopies of their academic certificates for us to verify, before they get to be shortlisted for any assignment. On top of this, during the 1st lesson, they are also required to produce the true copies of their academic records and certificates to the parent for verification purposes.
Is there any fee for engaging your service?
You will not incur any fee at all! There is a one-time agent fee charge at 50% of the monthly (4 lessons) tuition fee, where the tutor will pay for it. However, please take note that for the first payment cycle of 4 lessons, you are required to retain tuition fee of the first 2 lessons, which is 50%, and pay it to us directly via the payment mode stated below.
What if I find the tutor not suitable after the 1st lesson or a few lessons later?
In this case, we will find a replacement for you with no cost at your end. However, you are required to make payment to MyHomeTutors for the 1 or the few lessons that were conducted by that tutor.
Please note that should you decide to cancel your tuition request even before the start of the 1st lesson, while we have already matched a tutor for you. Then a fee equivalent to the first lesson may be charged as an administrative fee.
How do I make payment to MyHomeTutors?
You may make payment via the following methods:
a) PayNow to UEN 53484522C, My Home Tutors
b) Bank Transfer to UOB Corporate Account 7133001895, My Home Tutors.
What comes next after we match a tutor to the tutee?
Upon the successful matching of a tutor to a tutee, we will:
1) Send out confirmation letter to the tutor stating –
a) the parent’s name and contact number,
b) the address
c) the tutee’s requested subject and level to be taught
d) the fee per hour
and confirmation letter to the tutee’s parent stating –
a) the tutor’s name and contact number,
b) the address
c) the tutee’s requested subject and level to be taught
d) the fee per hour
This is to avoid any miscommunication and allow both parties to speak with each other prior to the first lesson on things such as: learn from the parent on how to get to the block, the school of the tutee has taught till which chapter for the subject concerned. Or the tutor can advise the parent on what assessment books to purchase before the lesson starts and so on.
2) 2 days before the actual lesson date, we will send a reminder to both parties.
3) On the day of the actual lesson, the tutor turns up at the time specified.
4) After the first lesson, we will check with the parent on the suitability of the tutor. If everything is fine, we will send out an invoice to the parent.
5) After the completion of the second lesson, we will collect a fee which is equivalent to 2 lessons from the parent. After which, we will issue the parent a receipt.
6) At the end of the first 4 lessons, the parent just needs to pay the balance fee which is equivalent to 2 lessons to the tutor. That’s the tutor borne the service fee to us, the agent.
7) Thereafter, both the parent and tutor may arrange the mode of payment between yourselves.
